Getting Social with Allocadia

By August 15, 2019Culture Blog

At Allocadia our culture thrives on building connecting between our team members. Whether it’s through collaborating on a project, getting to know a colleague, or getting out of the office as a team! Our dedicated social committee continues to come up with great events that get us out of our day to day routine and build connections with other Allocadians. We also host company wide events and have groups of Allocadians who organize themselves for various activities. At Allocadia there are lots of ways to get to know your team!

Here’s what we’ve been up to recently!

Sports Day – an annual event at Allocadia where we head outside and teams .  compete in fun challenges and always ends with tug-of-war and ice cream sandwiches!

Ronald McDonald House Breakfast – supporting families in BC, our team headed in to prepare a pancake breakfast for the patients and families staying at Ronald McDonald House so they could enjoy a homecooked meal without the hassle.

Carnival – as a special addition to our usual Friday afternoon social hour, our games rooms was transformed into a fair with different challenges and prizes to be won!

Canadians Baseball Game – an annual event for the whole team, an afternoon at the ballpark! To celebrate the start of our fiscal year we head to Nat Bailey Stadium in Vancouver for baseball and BBQ.

City Clean Up – as part of our environmental wellness month, a team of Allocadians hit the Sea Wall in Vancouver to pick up what others had left behind. A great afternoon to give back that has also been done by remote team members in their own cities!

Diversity Potluck – to celebrate the diversity of culture on our team, we hosted a potluck lunch in our office and encouraged everyone to bring a dish that shares a part of their heritage. Resulting in a delicious feast!

Other recent activities include games night, outdoor bootcamp classes, kayaking, and bouldering. Looking forward to more upcoming opportunities to connecting with other Allocadians!
